About Me
Hello! My name is Rikkie, and I am from Colorado! I am currently going to school at Grand Canyon University for Digital Design with an emphasis in Web Design. During the time I have spent at GCU, I have worked with programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Lightroom, InDesign, Adobe Express and XD. I have had a love for art my whole life and I love seeing where my imagination takes me. I enjoy creating poster designs and illustration artwork. I love to create invitations and/or posters for any event. My interests outside of graphic design include photography, baking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my daughter, family, and friends.
Worldview
Select a philosophical, political, economic, religious, or personal worldview to create an infographic in the form of a digital or traditional presentation drawing. Conduct extensive research and write a minimum of 250 words that describe the worldview and what knowledge is to be transferred through the imagery to the viewer. Techniques of simple object construction, iteration, simplification, lettering, and meaningful contrast will be applied.
For the Worldview assignment, we had to create an infographic on a worldview of our choice. I chose the Christian worldview. I used Adobe Illustrator. This assignment had a considerable amount of steps and research; which consisted of a description of the Christian worldview, research of different infographics, research images of visual inspiration, sketching thumbnails and rough drafts, and designing our own infographic.

To begin this assignment, I began with researching what different infographics and worldview diagrams look like to get an idea of what I need to include in my own. I then researched visual inspiration, which included a variety of inspirational images, typography, color schemes, photos, and textures.

Creative Ping Pong
Using the collaboration tools for Adobe Creative Cloud Express or Adobe Creative Cloud students will pass back and forth, two collaborative art or design pieces between two different students. The students will determine the creative theme of each of these designs. Send the files back and forth three times (totaling six iterations) to create a cohesive and creative end product. Each time the document is shared, you should add new features and assets to the design. Focusing on the principles of design. You will then produce a PowerPoint presentation showing a sequential timeline of each iteration, adding an explanation of the benefits of collaboration. The end result of each exchange will be examined in a self-reflective presentation.
For this assignment, I had two partners and we had to create a ping pong.
First partner

Iteration 1

To begin this project, my partner Rosalie added a simple mint green background along with beautiful yellow and white flowers. Her idea was to create an abstract garden.
Iteration 2

I then added this beautiful sunset background along with birds in the sky. I added some purple and pink flowers that I felt went well with the yellow flowers Rosalie had already added.
Iteration 3

Rosalie then added an illustrated house, realistic mountains, a bush, a tree and a butterfly. She wanted to mix illustrative and realistic elements; I felt doing that gave it a unique look.
Iteration 4

To the background I added a rainbow and rain, I felt like it really set the mood of the picture. I then added a couple walking their dog. I added some birds in the tree, a rabbit by the house, and some squirrels on the mountains. I added some ladybugs and grasshoppers to the flowers. I felt the insects really give the picture nice detail.
Iteration 5

Rosalie then added a sun setting behind some mountains; this really tied the picture together and made the background look even better. She then added a frame around our design and two people looking at it.
Iteration 6

For the final interaction, I added in a fence behind the flowers and a rooster standing on the fence. I moved the rabbit across the page to be by the tree. The fence was blocking it by the house, and I wanted to be able to see the rabbit.

Second partner

Iteration 1

My partner Mitchel pitched the idea to me to create a cover for a novel in the cyberpunk genre. He began with a simple Prussian blue background and a few design elements to set the mood.

Iteration 2

I then added an aesthetically appropriate character backed by a cyber-themed design. The backing design elements have a cyan and magenta color scheme which set the tone for the rest of what was to come.
Iteration 3

Mitchel then added a background with colors that matched my design elements to set the scene. He also adjusted the lighting on the character so that her features could be better seen.
Iteration 4

Next, I brought in some smoke from the top, furthering the "back alley" feel, and added a transformed version of the three red lines from the beginning iteration. I also added the title "GLITCH" with an appropriate glitch effect applied to it. The colors of the title match the color scheme of the whole design, tying all the elements together.
Iteration 5

For Mitchel's final contribution, he centered up the title and added a sub-header found on most modern novel covers. Additionally, he added another adjustment layer to the character to bring in some magenta light from the surrounding scene.
Iteration 6

To finish things off, I adjusted the three red stripes to better frame the title. Then I brought in more of the initial character backing design elements, matching the leading lines of the background, which serves to add depth and blend all the design elements together creating a superb cohesiveness.

Fake It Till You Make It
In this assignment, I had to write an email to myself, 25 years in the future, about a creative project I would like to work on together. I had to fill out a "Future Self Visualization" worksheet. This self-directed design project will tackle a creative area of interest that demonstrates that I am prepared to communicate professionally with a future collaborator and explain my concept.
To start this assignment, I began filling out the Future Self Visualization worksheet. This really helped me think about my future and what I really would like to do 5, 15, 30 years from now.
Sketch
I then had to develop a developmental drawing of a creative project. The project I chose to do was a travel magazine. I started by sketching the magazine cover to visually explain the project's details.
Email
I then had to write an email proposing a collaboration with my future self in 25 years on this magazine, inviting myself to collaborate.
