THE LITTLE PRINCE | BOOK COVERS AND DUST JACKETS

The Little Prince is one of the best-selling and most translated books of all time, universally cherished by children and adults alike, and Richard Howard's translation of the beloved classic beautifully reflects Saint-Exupéry's unique and gifted style, bringing the English text as close as possible to the French in language, style, and spirit. In this special edition, the artwork has been restored to match in detail and in color Saint-Exupéry's original artwork.
In this story, there is a detail that I like the most and remember forever is the image when the pilot drew an elephant in the stomach of a snake but the adults thought it was a hat. At that time, "adults" competed to tell him to give up his dream of drawing because no one understood what he drew. And he really quit.
Perhaps adults have forgotten that they were once children too? My idea would be to combine a script font, which is dreamy, and has curves but will have a contrast between strokes and a little bit of rigidity as if this is a fairy tale book but for adults.
The second detail I think is the romantic love of the little prince and the flower. Through the story I can see how much he loves her and how much responsibility he has towards this flower. I want to use a variable typeface that can show the variety of ways and reason why the little prince loves his flowers.
