Brief : To propose a new design inclusive of a plus program on the existing Station Pier on Port Melbourne
The existing Station Pier is considered a state heritage building and holds great historical value to the culture and people of Melbourne city. It was the entry point for immigrants into Melbourne during the gold rush era.
However, it is old and obsolete in function in comparison to other modern piers as it lacks technology and infrastructure. The proposal aims to replace the current building with a program that would involve the community while functioning as a commercial buffer at the same time.
