AL FRESCO ELEGANCE: THE BBQ CORNER
Terrain and barbecue area: before and after
The owners desired a versatile space that would encompass a barbecue area, a bar area, an independent bathroom, and a storage room. Given the unique terrain characteristics, only a limited set of options were available for the placement of the barbecue area. Consequently, an L-shaped floor plan was selected, comprising three distinct areas, each with its own separate entrance.

BBQ: Phase 1

However, placing the barbecue area in this specific location presented several challenges, foremost among them being the necessity to construct a robust reinforced concrete retaining wall and reshape the terrain to ensure stability. These measures were crucial to establish a secure foundation for the entire structure.

The central focus of the barbecue area features a wood-burning grill and an L-shaped bar. Expansive counters flank both sides of the bar, serving as practical surfaces for seating or other accessories, all while catering to various grilling needs.
The owners requested a fun and eclectic bathroom, built from recycled materials from the main house.
In terms of exterior aesthetics, a sleek, colored stucco facade was chosen, accompanied by a covered gallery that boasts a roof design harmonizing with that of the main house on the property. The judicious use of wood materials creates a visual link between the two structures, despite their distinct facades. This cohesive design approach fosters a harmonious connection with the natural surroundings. Overall, the barbecue area successfully merges functionality with aesthetics. It provides a dedicated space for outdoor cooking and socializing while seamlessly blending with the architectural style of the main house. The meticulous attention to both layout and material selection underscores the commitment to detail and the effortless integration of the barbecue area within the property.
