Animation for THE GOOD REACTOR documentary 2013

In late 2013 I was approached by director Frank Fenton and commissioned to produce a series of 16 cut animations for his film about Thorium MSRs / Nuclear technology and the energy crisis. The below piece of animation was an initial test piece that we created:
Based on this piece, we then drew up a series of candidate soundbites for the documentary, and set about creating a visual language that would carry through the whole documentary smoothly.
For example, we created all the elements in the reactor:
These Elements were then assembled into animations which were dubbed into the movie itself.
Each animated piece ranged from about 20 seconds up to 200 seconds and illustrated a point of complexity within the narrative.
Some of the points were, of course, simpler than others...

BCD Travel - character design, animation, sound editing, video editing

In late 2013 one of MTT's customers, BCD travel commissioned a short animation as an advert for their product, tripsource. Based on roughly sketched out characters and a basic storyboard, the final product (which can be seen below, alongside two rough edits) was ready - sound, VO and final edits - in ten
Once the character designs and storyboard were signed off, the initial test animation above was completed as a sample for signoff
Next, a basic VO was recorded in order to create approximate timings and preview the animation for review. After review it was requested that we substitute other characters in place of the predesigned figures for the final piece, below:

"EYE" Promotional videos and posters - 2014
This is a music night that I ran during the summer of 2014 in Williamsburg, indulging a personal fondness for Oil Projectors, Lighting Gels and all manner of visual colour. A monthly night in an enormous venue, I was able to bring together a number of projectionists, DJs and vinyl specialists to make the whole thing a roaring success.

The EYE motif was inspired by vinyl centre ring artwork, and simple enough to be applied over almost any image.
Using montages of the actual projections at the venue, combined with stock footage and some very simple animation techniques, I created a whole suite of videos and posters to promote the evening, which were unfortunately so successful they tended to be stolen from wherever they were placed:
The template was endlessly repeated in square format, as a 12" tribute to vinyl and the generalised culture of 1960s and 1970s psychedelic rock music.

VJT3 - DVD menus / loops / projections 2015
This was a commission in early 2015 to create a set of 8 DVD covers, titles sets and overlays for nightclub-based projections by a video DJ / VJ mixing multimedia via serrato interface. They movies were sold directly via parties in NYC and online to collectors, and I was given complete free reign as to how to put the imagery together for the Russian DJ / VJ and his stark techno stylings.
I designed a number of "stabs" or animated logos for use during projections and as a part of a motion brand toolkit for VJT3
Next was a set of menu animations which were also handed to VJT3 as mattes for projection overlay and use in live mixes
Each DVD had a slightly different application of the logo suite with motion graphics as an intro to each piece of music
