About a million years ago a huge explosion caused a huge crater 10km in diameter. In the resulting caldera several other volcanoes were created over the years, including the Bromo volcano.
Surrounded by green cliffs, the caldera has an unreal sight. The ensemble of volcanic cones, lava flows, and the smoking chimneys of the volcano Bromo and Semeru, seem like from another world.
The atmosphere up there is unreal, and the landscape is characterized by their nakedness.
