Branding and Visual Systems
Overview
Upon being assigned the 2038 Zermatt Winter Olympic Games, I was asked to create a branding system that encapsulated the true heart of the Olympic Games. Starting with inspiration, typeface, and color palette, I quickly jumped into creating the entire identity. A logo, and secondary logo mark was first on the list of tasks, then I created a navigation series, a promo package, info graphics, and off-air advertisement.
Inspired by Swiss design and the implementation of the grid, simplistic shapes such as the circle and square, as well as their systematic sequencing and placement within the frame. The technicalities of the grid are reminiscent of the first ascent of the Matterhorn mountain located in Switzerland since the voyage required the hikers to understand the mountain and its topography in a gridded structure.
