Tactile Adaptation of 'The Giving Tree Book' by Shel Silverstein
Books play an essential role in shaping a child’s life. Many of us fondly recall the tactile sensations,
the distinctive aroma, and the enchanting tales these books held. However, there are individuals with unique needs, requiring an alternative approach to experience these cherished moments.

I embarked on a significant venture: crafting an adapted tactile rendition of the beloved classic,
"The Giving Tree." This undertaking aimed to render picture books accessible to children with visual impairments. Collaborating closely with the Chetana Charitable Trust, I embarked on this endeavour for the National Tactile Book Competition back in 2017 and collaborated with again in 2021 for another adaptation
The journey was enlightening. I delved into the realm of tactile materials, meticulously testing each iteration with mentors. The project entailed intricate work on illustrations and innovative conceptualization. Although the laurels of victory eluded me in the competition, the real triumph was the book's resounding success among its most cherished readers – the delightful children I designed it for.
