I crafted the IDKU artwork in 2022 specifically for Kasetsart University, aiming to encapsulate the four core identities that the university instills in its students.
In this illustration, I depicted a quintessential Kasetsart student adorned in the university's uniform. The backdrop portrays a scene of rainfall, which holds profound symbolism for the institution. The university's emblem, Phra Pirun (the god of rain), is closely associated with rain, and it's integral to the university's heritage. Notably, Kasetsart University was founded with a primary objective of nurturing the next generation of agricultural professionals, aligning with its historical focus on cultivating a skilled workforce for the agricultural sector.
Here are 2 versions of sketches I made before the final artwork;
Inspired by Pixar, Inside Out. "Everyone has many aspects inside, many characters or monsters inside their head" is the theme of this illustration. Then, I created 4 monsters to represent each core identity;
1) Integrity - He is a round-shaped character who represents the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. He also wears the Kasetsart university flower on top of his head.
2) Determination - He is a more square-shaped character with a firmness of purpose to win and overcome any obstacles.
3) Knowledge Creation- He is a scientist with a nerd character who seeks innovation to improve the world specially for plants world.
4) Unity- A powerful and robust athlete, whose physique exudes strength, yet possesses a gentle and generous demeanor. His heart is compassionate and open, driven by a willingness to selflessly prioritize the needs of society or his team above his own.
