This was a project for an Illustration I wanted to do that involved the idea of playing with muted color and light to draw the eye to a singular focal point in the illustration. The concept was loosely based on the idea of Artemis, Goddess of the hunt. 

Initial sketches played with the idea of a hunter, a woman and a stag, and thumbnails show initial design ideas. I wound up choosing a more intimate, up close scene for the final piece.

I then worked on identifying lighting and values, to see which ones portrayed the scene I liked the most.
