The concept idea for Axle revolves around the creation of a mixed-use complex that provides a seamless connectivity and harmony between administrative, recreational and retail uses, in the heart of a new development residential area in Nargis, New Cairo and located on Gamal Abdel Nasser axis leading to the new administrative capital.

The project consists of 3 commercial floors mass, the outline is shaped to create direct visual connection between units and surrounding streets, wrapping around a main plaza containing the units outdoor terraces, landscape activities and a vast courtyard with links connecting project east with west for the continuity of circulation and visual link between floors. On top of it a 2 administrative floors mass shaped to give the maximum premium location units and direct circulation from cores.

The massing orientation and elevations treatment follow passive design strategies as massing formation studied to cast shade on outdoor spaces and create air flow between the volumes with the courtyard that goes through the different levels to enhance air circulation. Moreover, using vertical shading elements in the admin mass that are adaptive to every elevation direction thus changing in number and module.
Our main goal is to design a building that promotes connectivity, sustainability and community engagement while also providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all its users.
