Living out in Colorado I got the chance to be somewhat close to Yellowstone National Park. Over a few years I accumulated many negatives and digital files of Yellowstone's pools, springs, and geysers. I wanted a way to showcase them in an unique way. I began by scanning in hundreds of negatives, editing a single pool, and then layering scanned files onto the main background. My goal was to create a surreal, fake landscape that still maintained a sensible reality.
