Scented Connections – Visualising fragrances
While I work with unusual datasets, I had never before been asked to visualise the very essence of perfumes and aromas.
I created 'Scented Connections', a series of 32 unique data portraits for Robertet Group that embody the network of fragrances and aromas used to create a scent, as provided by the people who create them.

Inspired by the intricate web of relationships that form the backbone of a fragrance and by nature's shapes, each portrait represents a unique 'olfactory fingerprint' charting the journey of a fragrance from its creation to its ultimate destination.

I aimed to capture the invisible threads that bind perfumers and their fragrances, transforming complex data into a visual symphony of intersecting lines, nodes, and patterns. As the observer delves deeper into the artwork, they become immersed in a visual symphony that reveals the interconnectedness of scent and human experience. Fragrance and aroma notes cascade and converge, mirroring the harmonious collaborations and creative exchanges that breathe life into each fragrance.
This artistic exploration not only celebrates the craftsmanship behind each scent but also invites the viewer to contemplate their own place within this intricate tapestry of fragrance.
