1860's Watson's Mill in Manotick, Ontario, Canada
Photograph of a gear and winch system taken on the locks at the Watson's Mill.  The Rideau River is seen in the background.
This wood, plulley, gear and belt system was used to clean the grain before processing at the Watson Mill.
The work involved, the timbers, the gears, the innovation involved is impressive especially if you consider that it was constructed in the 1860’s.
