The Scene and Market of Romanian Contemporary Art

The Romanian Contemporary Art Scene and Market between 2000-2020 in the context of (post)globalization: An analysis of the private sector art world
The project consists of developing an editorial product that focuses on the evolution of the Romanian contemporary art scene in the private sector between 2000 and 2020, in the context of post-globalization. The publication builds upon Diana Ursan's text, a graduate of the UNArte Doctoral School, with the present work. This collaboration arises from the realization that there is a lack of a similar product on the market that encourages a dialogue related to this current and relevant subject of the local contemporary art scene.

The design concept adopted in the project starts with an attempt to visually reproduce the deconstructed and modular layout of a gallery or exhibition space, where artworks are carefully displayed. Just as the exhibition space of a gallery aims to highlight the exhibits, the visual approach of this publication is inspired by their ethos.
