JINTANG COUNTY

 

The landscape of China is rapidly changing, the population is booming and brand new towns and suburbs are being built everywhere.  On the outskirts of Chengdu, land has been designated for just that purpose - this is a proposal for the new city.  The city is located across the river from the old city to the West, and next to three new universities, and a major highway, to the East.  This proposal focuses on preserving and enhancing the existing connections to the old city, celebrating the waterways that meander through the site, and incorporating as much greenspace as possible while still retaining a vibrant urban and suburban lifestyle.
