Bee in the Poison Ivy

Cardamime hirsuta, of the Cruciferae family. Common name:  Hairy bitter cress.  Photo shows the following characteristics:  Herb.  4  white petals. 4 stamens (male parts).  The stamens consist of the filament (stalk), and the anther (pollen bearing sac).   1 pistil (female part).   Vislble in the photo is the style (stalk) and the stigma ( pollen receptor). After fetilization, the ovary matures and becomes the fruit , a silique (the long, cylindrical fruit).  The hairy leaves are pinnately compound.   Photo made in Plano, Texas, February 21, 2015.  Flowering in this location occurs from January through February.  Flowers are 2 to 2.5 mm across.
