Demonstration of cleaning, removing a complex object from a scene
Client: Oriflame Project
This project revolved around the post-production of a specific 4K shot. The shot in question, employed for demonstrating the potential of video retouching, involved a dynamic scene where a man and a woman are moving across the frame, and the camera is also in motion.
Objective: The objective was to improve the aesthetic value of a shot that initially contained an unwanted element - a construction fence in the background. This fence disrupted the director's intended portrayal of a meaningful glance between the two people. The task was to remove this undesirable element while maintaining the natural continuity of the scene, and thus preserve the director's original vision.
Tasks Completed:
• Removal of unwanted elements: The construction fence in the background was completely removed from the shot.
• Scene cleanup: The removal of the fence was conducted while ensuring the natural flow and continuity of the scene was maintained.
• Background replacement: Once the fence was removed, the background was replaced with natural and aesthetically pleasing grass.
• Motion management: The cleanup and background replacement was executed while managing multiple simultaneous movements in the frame, namely, the moving subjects and the moving camera.
Results: The completion of the post-production resulted in a clean, visually appealing shot where the focus remained on the key moment between the man and woman, as intended by the director. The removal and replacement of the construction fence were executed seamlessly, demonstrating the potential and finesse of meticulous video retouching in preserving and enhancing the original vision of a video project.
