The Truck Typographic Installation was a unique and eye-catching project undertaken for a Dhaba themed restaurant located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The objective was to create a visually appealing and authentic installation that reflected the essence of a traditional Indian truck while incorporating typographic design elements. This case study provides an overview of the project, its execution, and the impact it had on the restaurant’s ambiance.

Truck Dhaba, known for its delectable Indian cuisine, sought to enhance its dining experience by incorporating a distinct visual element that would transport customers to the vibrant streets of India. Inspired by the colorful and intricately decorated trucks commonly found on Indian roads, the restaurant owners envisioned a typographic installation using an actual truck back piece as the canvas.

The first step involved procuring an authentic truck back piece, which would serve as the focal point of the installation. The team scoured local markets and workshops to find a suitable piece that aligned with the desired aesthetic. Once acquired, the back piece was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the subsequent design process. With the truck back piece ready, our  team of skilled artists meticulously hand-drew the typographic design onto the surface. The chosen typography and design style embodied Indian truck art which is a vibrant and visually captivating art style that adorns the transportation trucks found in North India. Known for its bold colors, intricate patterns, and intricate designs, it is an integral part of the country’s cultural identity and a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship of its people. The truck back piece was securely installed in a prominent location within the restaurant. Great care was taken to ensure its stability and visibility, allowing guests to fully appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship involved.
