Design

This area describes different projects that
approach industrial design in every technique such as:
digital fabrication (CNC), sketches, mock-ups, renders,
exploration with materials and handmade production.
I think design is everywhere. It helps us to understand
how the objects and things works. A designer itself try
to achieve a very strong communication with the user
through the objects, so one can have the satisfaction
of a whole and a meaning.

Personal Space
2020
Pine Plywood & DI - NOC FW
1500x 900 x 420 mm
3M Contest

Personal Space is a project that won first place in a contest with a very important
brand in the market, 3M. The objective was to create a piece of furniture that
transforms from a 2D dimension to a 3D one, which specifically seeks to benefit
people who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, find themselves in their
homes with many people, providing them with the option of privacy. This object is
a dividing wall with two views, which adapts according to the user. It has 6 shelves
of different lengths that are placed randomly, so it becomes a very personal space.
I decided to do this project to provide people with the opportunity to obtain
portable privacy. The final result arises from a personal research that with the help
of sketches, models, designs and selection of materials create this object not only
pleasant for the user, but also for the space and environment in which it will be used.

Botanero
2022
Concrete & Wood
100 x 300 x 300 mm
Industrial Production

The project is created in order to deepen the
approach with suppliers and financial techniques.
Under this proposal a batch of 10 customized pieces
was created with the help of a fiberglass mold and
concrete. The final result arises from a deep research,
including videos, photos and financial tables that
explain with precision the commercialization of a pro-
duct, including branding. A final price was set, taking
into account all kinds of costs, such as packaging and
labeling to sell it in a bazaar. A collective was created,
called “Colectivo +”, which was part of Tráfico Bazar in
the year 2022.

Charlies Roulette
2022
Plastic filament, vinyl and acrylic
300 x 500 x 250 mm
Toy with narrative

With the help of Joel Escalona, an exhibition of different toys spanning periods in history
was designed. This project represents the postmodern era of the years 1970-1990.
“Charlie’s Roulette” refers to the fall of the Berlin Wall, alluding to the most famous border
crossing: “Checkpoint Charlie”. The name “roulette” comes from the game of Russian
roulette, since getting alive or dying in the attempt from one side of the Berlin Wall to the
other, was entirely dependent on chance. In this game, two players compete by building
walls with plastic pieces with graffiti. The toy is for children at least 8 years old, given their
awareness of real events: although they know how to build a wall, they must pay attention
to the given context. The players must try to build their wall before the other, fighting. The
first to finish is the first to spin the roulette. This spinning indicates the turns of destruction,
thus generating a tense and competitive atmosphere, projecting the war situation of the
years 1961 to 1989. Thus, by spinning the roulette wheel and starting to knock down the
opposite player’s wall with a ball, victory can be established when there is a wall overthrown.
