Capitalism is an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit.
Capitalism is a pretty controversial topic. It has, like any socio-economic topic, its pros and cons. Making a campaign on such a topic without being politically offensive is pretty challenging.
Ultimately, I made a campaign on a satirical political election that acts as a metaphor for the current political and economical climate. The characters are all inspired by certain attributes associated with the ‘evil’ side of capitalism.
There are two sets of posters in this campaign- the first one to introduce the characters, and the other, inspired by American propaganda posters, to show the influence of such characters and campaigns, both on political campaigns as a whole, but also their impact on the world.
This entire campaign was inspired by American political campaigns and meant as nothing more than a satirical view at capitalism. No offense of any sort was meant to anyone with this campaign; it is only an illustration of my appreciation of how political campaigns have changed throughout time and how they changed the world.
A series of badges designed for each of the characters as badges are one of the main merchandise products in political campaigns.
