I started sketching the other day and came up with a decent shape for a temporary pavilion.  Recently BMW had a small pavilion erected for the launch of the new i8 car in my neighborhood.  It was rather elegant, but completely enclosed.  I wanted to do a temporary pavilion that is open air fundamentally, but could be closed in as well without loosing too much design integrity.
My initial sketches.  I played around with shapes for the columns.  Initially I like the 4 posts, per corner idea.  Then I started riffing off the "X" shape, but went back to the four posts design.  I think its more elegant and lighter visually.
Here is a rough plan from above.  I intend for the roof panels to be translucent but not transparent.  They could also be solid with small perforations (pattern TBD).  That would work as well.
End elevation.
Note how the roof panels step up from level to level.  Depending on local weather for the site, an integrated gutter system could be used to keep from creating a waterfall at the low end.
I tried to call out the difference between messaging graphics and imagery/color graphics.  They would all be vinyl over substrate.  The host desks/lecterns are custom design as well.  They are 1" square metal tube frame with 1/16" plate cover, all powdercoated.  I included a small shelf/cubby to hide a laptop and drink cup.  I didn't go overboard with onsite storage at this point, I just wanted to get the overall form rignt.  Ideally I'd integrate some storage benches for typical marketing materials.
