Screensavers

–– After our first collaboration, Samsung trusted CLIM STUDIO again to create the Screensaver Animation for more Galaxy models. And we couldn't be more proud of it as the work is stored on all A24, A24 5G, A34 5G, and A54 phones worldwide. Samsung's in-house team together with their agency Cheil International commissioned us to create this galaxy-inspired animation.

– The piece contains a set of scenes inspired by their original static wallpaper in order to create a beautiful, contemplative yet energising 30 seconds animation. –– Otherworldly and Nature were the kick-start words from Samsung. They had it clear in their minds they needed landscape-based visuals, so we went ahead and created all the environments. We paired our designs with soft camera movements and some motion-graphic-influenced animation as a response to their need to create a powerful screensaver that works as a visual claimer in retail stores while bringing a fresh-soft visual world to the final user while having the phone idling around.

We do take colour

very seriously.

All the models had to have the same animation but at the same time, potential buyers needed to distinguish them in-store. That's the reason why crafting a cohesive and solid colour study was so necessary. A colour palette that gives each series two different accent colours, in sync with their wallpaper image. All the scenes are properly balanced making sure there is visual consistency within and between them while making sure we keep each landscape unique. We found the right amount of iterations so the phones are easily identified while perceived as a family at the same time.

Our Process.

–– We are also visual thinkers and we love to explore by making things come to life. That's why it is important for us to include an RnD phase when it is needed. It allows us to see what could be a good path, discard ideas, and discover new approaches. We do it while finding excitement and beauty along the way.
