Boxer Character Animation

During my second year in college, I created a character animation about a boxer fighting a boxing machine. I started with producing moodboards to expand my idea and to ensure I had a clear vision of my project.
Once my research was complete, I decided on the final appearance of my character models. To demonstrate my design, I used Procreate to create a character sheet.
Next, I modelled and textured my character in 3ds max. For the first Time I applied a professional rig made from scratch. I gained valuable knowledge about body anatomy and joint dependencies. This helped me bring my model to life and animate his moves smoothly.
Finally, I used Procreate to create the storyboard. I added annotations and explained in details every aspect of my animation concept.
Before I put my character in my scene, I tested the smoothness of his moves by creating three short animations.
In order to make my animation more interesting, I added face morphers to my final character. While working on this project, I gained valuable experience in manipulating IK and FK controllers. Though it required many hours of work on the skinning, I was pleased with the result as my character was easy to animate.
