In 2018 my university associates and I were tasked with a project to create advertisements including a custom logo design for the University of Newcastle's Festival X. The festival aims to showcase university graphic design to the local community within the CBD of Newcastle.
For this project I opted for a stark contrast between the brand Festival X and the imagery shown in the photographs. I sourced the original images from Unsplash, and treated them with colour shifting and pixel sorting to enhance their bright colours. I opted for a chemical element based logo design to draw on the traditional educational background associated with universities. The use of greyscale for the logo design is a direct draw from the typical colours associated with the University of Newcastle's own logo design.
This is the final design project I completed during my time at the University of Newcastle, and was shortlisted as a designer to work on the Festival X branding as a result of the imagery I used in the designs.
