Even if people are statistically more secure than before, they feel mentally less secure. Volvo's focus has always been on safety in the car and driving; now the challenge is to create safety for pedestrians.
We have created a new plug-in for the smartphone. The Plug-in is a cover which, thanks to a laser sensor located inside it, can monitor all kinds of obstacles within a metre's distance and automatically an alert notification appears on the display to warn you.
