T. REX UNKNOWN | Commissioned Illustrations
Series of illustrations that depict some moments of the life of Tyrannosaurus rex, based on the knowledge that we have of this dinosaur.
This set of illustrations was commissioned for an educational web project on Instagram.

The commission included three illustrations and the graphics for Instagram posts, stories and reels.
Tyrannosaurus jaw injuries
Some tyrannosaurids skulls show some strange marks around the area of the mouth.
Tyrannosaurus rex is no exception. Also on the jaw bones of this theropod are often present scars and sings of old injuries.
Tyrannosaurids had an enormous bite force and as they were probably used to bite other individuals on their muzzles in intraspecific fights, those bites left some heavy marks, even on bones.

Here is an illustration of a Tyrannosaurus rex with an evident jaw injury, the result of a fight with another Tyrannosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus laying eggs
Tyrannosaurus rex layed eggs, as the majority of reptiles do. Paleontologists have found eggs and embryos of tyrannosaurids, but how a Tyrannosaurus rex's nest would have looked like?
It's hard to tell with precision, because no Tyrannosaurus rex's nest have been found yet, but, taking other theropods' nests as an example (for instance Torvosaurus and Citipati, just to mention a couple), we can assume that it could be a in a hole in the ground and that the mother would have had disposed the eggs in a circular way.

The eggs were probable quite oblong and a fresh hatched chick, could probably have had the size of a small dog breed, like a Chihuahua or a Shih tzu.

Tyrannosaurus coprolites
One of the strangest fossils that we could imagine to found are Coprolites a.k.a dinosaur's fossil dung.
Paleontologists have found both coprolites of tyrannosaurids and coprolites of Tyrannosaurus rex specifically. Analyzing the content of those coprolites scientists have found the remains of the theropod's meal.
