This study was made using a photograph by Barry James Wilson. It was entirely done with colored pencils. In it, I wanted to study the physiognomy of a man with more advanced characteristics due to age.
This is one of my favorite works. I loved the contrast of the hair with the green and blue of the water, and with the light colors of the character against the very dark background. The feeling of peace is something I love to portray in my paintings, and I feel like this one conveys it very well.
This is already an old painting. It was one of my first projects and maybe today I would do it differently. But I love its texture and subtlety.
