Impact Lab Design Intensive Solution

Design-Led Solution Completed through Impact Lab at QUT
While completing my studies at QUT, I had the opportunity to participate in a Design Intensive through one of my units called Impact Lab. The goal of the Intensive was to develop a design-led response that addresses a project brief provided by an external collaborating organisation in teams.
My team and I collaborated with Orange Sky Australia who are a non-profit organisation who provide a platform for every day Australians to connect through a regular laundry and shower service.
During the Intensive we responded to their brief about Trust Exchange which asked how we might design a secure storage solution that amplifies trust and convenience for friends.
Through some research we discovered an opportunity to provide a digital storage solution for friends of Orange Sky.
Our solution was to create a community hub that allows friends to access emails and a digital drive where they can store important documents and photos.
The community hub provides direct access to digital storage services and access to email. Through smartphones friends also have the ability to scan documents directly from their phone.
Friends can access the community hub via a qr code that is placed on ground stickers at shift locations and can also be placed on advertising posters. The ground stickers can also have location specific information that will also assist friends with who do not have digital access.
Through our hub the website accessiblity would be improved and friends can access recent and relevant information about shift updates.
There is a assumption that many friends are cut-off from technology and the digital age. Orange Sky can be at the forefront of keeping friends included in the growing digital world by providing access to useful digital tools and can have a strong impact on digital accessibility for friends.
