Make Your Own Bracelet
I designed this infographic based on friendship bracelet designs I remember from childhood. This project was completed for a vector illustration class using Adobe Illustrator. In this project, I aimed to design a five-step infographic that did not incorporate lettered instructions. The design had to be a concept easily interpreted into five steps and designed through Illustrator. With this in mind, I pushed myself to create this infographic using the pen tool, only a select number of colors, and to continue to test my skills.

Here are my sketches used to create this design's beginnings. Some of my original drawings were for a different infographic design of braiding hair, but I am content with my chosen design theme
This is the color theme that I decided to use for the design. I wanted to use warm colors that I associated with Chinese culture and the happy memories of making my bracelets when I was younger. The teal color was to add a contrasting color to better show the arrowed directions.
Finding the mockups I wanted for this design involved more than I initially thought. When I was younger, I had this small book with a collection of step-by-step bracelet designs, so I had the image in my mind of a book. This idea made things more complicated due to the infographic's size and made my search more specific. However, I am pleased with the mockup that I found. I also created a design for a book cover with the mockup I found.
TThis is the cover design that I had for the mockup. It does not entirely match the color theme, yet, it was not supposed to match the design because it was separate from the original project or plan. The mockup itself does not show these colors due to the many different filters applied, and they work better than my cover designs combined.
This project brought back fond memories, and I enjoyed creating the design and am happy with the result.
