Name, Logotype and Visual Identity
We named our brand Hip + Hep ’cause it’s fun and happy, and basically, we wanted to emphasize on the playful aspect of life. The slang word “hip” first appeared in the early 1930s within the jazz circles and may have its origins in the Wolof language. In our time, when we say that something it’s “hip”, we mean its current and cool. And so is our logo, current and cool, with a custom-made, colorful, and fun typography that immediately captures the illustration process.
Pattern & Illustration Design
Hip + Hep’s patterns and illustrations are original artworks with a distinctive style that cover numerous and different subject areas: faces and figures, animals and nature, abstract art, geometrical forms, and much more. They are made for fashion brands, professionals, and individuals who just want a pop of color in their life. For B2B orB2C, Hip + Hip + Hep is here to stay and brighten up our every day!
The Website
Hip + Hep’s main communicational vehicle is its website. Therefore, we couldn’t but design a whimsical, optimistic, and joyful site, right on our brand character’s tracks.Β2Β and B2C services were differentiated in an articulate way, the thematic sections were configured with the brand’s target group in mind, and the overall navigation was organized with convenience and simplicity as our main criteria. The copies were written as if it is Hip + Hep that does the talking, all cheerful and friendly!
