WOMEN BY TAGORE
Rabindranath Tagore, the prolific Bengali writer and philosopher, is known for the beauty of his work, but also because his writings often touched upon bold and challenging subjects that were so ahead of its time.
Focusing his work on the intricacy of human relationships, many of his female protagonists were portrayed as women who took their chances, women who defied the rigid societal norms of the day and fought for their rights in a complex society.

The images reimagine Tagore' female characters in a modern world, while retaining the charm of its time. Strong, bold, unconventional and self-aware, Tagore's women do not fit into a box that society tries to put them into. Although not always highly educated, she is well aware of her rights and will stop at nothing if they are infringed upon.
