Eid ul-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," is a significant Muslim holiday that marks the end of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan. It is celebrated on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs. The month is observed as a time for spiritual reflection, increased devotion, and acts of charity. The fast is broken each day with a meal known as iftar.

On Eid ul-Fitr, Muslims gather in large congregations at mosques and prayer grounds to perform special prayers called the Eid prayers.
