Ebay and I partnered to release a one of a kind handmade prototype sneaker to highlight the site's market place as the ultimate destination for sneaker shopping.

In a period of 3 weeks, I designed 3 concepts and fabricated the chosen design. This prototype I made features a sneaker found on Ebay, which was displayed at the Ebay Museum of Authentics in Melbourne, Australia in April 2022.

Ebay is the perfect place to kickstart your creative process and find unique sneakers, so I looked for interesting shoes that would be a great fit as a starting point for this project.

Based on the three different sneakers found on Ebay, these were the concepts presented to the team to choose from:

"I want to highlight in the creation of this prototype, the purity of human expression and ingenuity that it takes to bring an idea to reality. In an Industry where digital is the go-to medium for creatives, where a marketing brief is what drives the vision, the goal here is to shine a light on the other side of the spectrum.

Focusing on the mantra “design as you make and make as you design”, eBay is the perfect place to kickstart the creative process. By browsing thousands of sneaker postings, I was able to find unique styles that were essential and used in the making of this prototype. 

Creating art is the mission and highlighting the craft that goes behind the journey of making a prototype is the purpose that I strive to portray in this collaboration with Ebay. 

There is no right or wrong and there are no mistakes. There is only creation.”
