Nasha Gazeta №4
Nasha Gazeta.сh has been the first online Switzerland's newspaper in Russian language, launched in November 2007. The daily audience counts of 5 to 6,000 unique visitors (up to 7000 on the "scoops" days), mainly from Russia, Switzerland, Germany, United States, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
In 2012, to celebrate its fifth anniversary, the team NashaGazeta.ch released its first print edition. Today the biannual magazine "Nasha Gazeta" is a luxury publication (also in digital version) dedicated mainly to Russian-speaking readers in Switzerland or visiting this country. The editorial content of the magazine is focused around the culture, history, politics, economics , medicine - in short, all the various topics which link the Switzerland to the Russian-speaking world. The magazine is sold on newsstands and distributed free of charge in many privileged sites and on First and Business class SWISS flights between Switzerland and Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev.
I was asked to create a new layout and design for the № 4. It has been a long work in collaboration with the Editor-In-Chief to find a newer and fresher way to convey the contents.
The new design had to be in the same time serious and modern, fitting at best the up to 30 years demanding readership.
The new look has a simple and regular layout. Every article has his own character depending on the content, remaining nevertheless everything under the same style. The three main colors - red, grey and black – and the fonts selectioned for head titles of articles – "Raleway" and "Bodoni" – should add to the magazine an additional touch of sharp simplicity.
