JOURNAL OF JOY
The initial aim of this project was to design a time-lapse journal (such as the 5 year journal by Potter Style), and when I had a hard time thinking of a theme, the idea of gathering a collection of good things happened each day was perfectly suitable.

My design approach was very feminine as I see a gap in the market for some seriously girly journals. Many of the designs seem like they were afraid to be full-on pretty.

All illustrations and patterns are drawn by me using Illustrator.

FORMAT: Monthly, A5, 32 pages, with sticker sheet attached
As well as trying to make the journal pretty, I needed to make sure the users feel encouraged to note down positive moments of their day, not just anything happened.

The sticker sheet contains a variety of questions and phrases to inspire potential topics to write about (it should ideally be die-cut into individual words and phrases); while the intro page gives brief advise on how to use this journal.
First half of the journal is decorated with my original illustrated pattern no.1, featuring flowers and lacy stripes. Each page has its own day number on so the user will not mix up the pages.
Second half of the journal introduces a dash of purple to the design with my second illustrated pattern.
