Design the Cover of 50th Mark magazine
The fiftieth issue of Mark magazine will be out on 1 June 2014. To celebrate the occasion, Mark is organizing
a design competition for the cover of Mark #50.
Material available for participants includes cover photography, cover template, masthead and the Mark logo. The masthead and logo must be included in the cover design.
Cover photography and template may be used as desired. For example, you may edit, enhance or omit photos altogether, or use photographic images as inspiration for another type of design.
The cover photography shows three buildings that will be featured in Mark #50:
- Seongdong Cultural Centre in Seoul, Korea by Unsangdong Architects (two photos by Sergio Pirrone)
- Water Circle in Gyeonggi Province, Korea by Unsangdong Architects (seven photos by Sergio Pirrone)
- Rowing Centre in Pocinho, Foz Coa, Portugal by Álvaro Andrade (one photo by Joao Morgado)
Following the teaching about paper and matter given us through Bauhaus school I developed this project.
The concept was based on the architectural process which begins with an idea
and achieves its goals shaping material forms...
So firstly I decided to substitute building materials with papers and I went to print out the images.
Having physically on my hands I started folding the paper copies and after serveral drafts,
I choose the best ones.. afterwards I scanned them
and I blended with Mark magazine template.
