Speed Form Model -Polyurethane Foam

For this project I had to a make speed form model using polyurethane foam, one the most used materials in model making and prototyping.
Before jumping into the sculpting part, I decided to go through some ideation sketches
Consequently, after working the foam with sculpting tools and sand paper I finally obtained a shape that had dynamism and a sense of speed
At this point, I was ready to apply primer which ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted
Moreover, after having sanded the two primed parts of the form to ensure a smooth surface, I applied paint first and then clear coat, to obtain a glossy look
Finally, with rubbing compound I removed the “orange peel” look that paint created in some parts of the model
The final model
