Primary PPA cover refers to the time during the school day when a primary school teacher is given Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA) time to carry out non-teaching tasks, such as lesson planning, marking, and assessing student work. During this time, the class is usually taught by another teacher, often called a PPA cover teacher, who may or may not be a specialist in the subject area being taught.
