The Police Reunion Tour
In Collaboration with director Jim Gable and Ann Kim, of Graying & Balding, Inc myself and the old team at vsquaredlabs had the opportunity to create concert visuals and theme content for this highly successful world tour.
The Police and Best Buy released a collector's set on 7 October 2008 entitled Certifiable: Live in Buenos Aires. The visual artworks I directed are seen on screens. I also created the opening animation title and some vfx elements for the DVD in the hospital while my daughter Vie was being born.
The first show was a preview concert in Vancouver, for 4,000 members of the band's fan club, on 27 May 2007. These are photographs I took in Vancouver the night before the first live show of the historic reunion.
Classic visual styles remixed
Custom designed lightbox for painting inks with ring lighting to allow film through. Using time-lapse techniques we painted elements for synchronicity as well as additional experimental organic patterns for use throughout the concert.
