The message that I’m trying to communicate through my artwork is that you should always be yourself. I did this by using my natural smile along with a monochromatic scheme of my favorite color, which is blue. This helps to bring out my personality and show people who I am.
Grimacing man by Léopold Boilly is similar to my artwork because of the fact that he seems to be himself in the drawing. Most of the artwork from the 1800’s is very serious and boring. The fact that he made a funny face shows his personality. The approach is similar to my artwork because it tells something about himself by going away from the norm at the time. It is different from my artwork because his is a drawing and we focused on different details and used very different styles.
