'The Engineer', a sculpture representing Andrew Walker, responsible for the construction of Seven Tunnel and town of Sudbrook, UK, stands proudly on the banks of the Severn estuary. Fabricated by Gareth Dewsnap & Martin Bellwood at MB Fine Arts.
Working with sculptor, Rubin Eynon, on his concept for 'The Engineer', my task was to bring his vision to realisation. His design, a faceted figure staring out over the Severn Estuary, was to be constructed by welding together 366 Coreten steel triangles. Using a CAD model I designed an assembly sequence, technical drawings and PU formers to guide the construction.
