"Life Is Moo" - March 2022
Within my Intaglio class, we were able to learn a number of new skills and techniques to achieve compositions within the printmaking specialty. This composition was created using the technique of aquatint, which produces tonal effects within a print using acid to eat into the printing plate creating sunken areas which hold the ink. The tonal ranges of the ink placement was determined on how long the zinc printing plate was under influence of the acid. Along with submerging the plate in acid for desired times, I also used a paintbrush to create line shapes and values within the grass and within the sky to give a "clouded" effect. I feel rather successful in watching the time of acid submerging and the tonal range is relatively well done across the composition design.
