Indy Fashion Time founder, Dlang, asked if we could produce the imagery for the 2011 event, including a web banner, brochure and flier images. She wanted one picture that would be clean, but exciting, and another image that would capture the unique setting of Indianapolis' downtown canal. All images needed to include the same model and wardrobe.
Oh yes, they all had to be shot on location, the same date, in February. We were outdoors, it was 34 degrees, windy, and there was snow on the ground.
First of all, I must give kudos to model Erin Byrnes for suffering through the shoot without a single complaint. We kept the bare areas of her skin coated with Vaseline to prevent exposure and chill-bump issues. We were shooting in a basin of the canal, which keeps a breeze blowing year round. As assistant would wrap Ms. Byrnes with blankets when she wasn't needed for shooting.
We shot from several locations on the canal and settled on the images shown below. I used digital manipulation to remove the background from some images, and replaced or enhanced the background in others. Images were used successfully for promotion and event imagery.
