Ilocos is a region in the Philippines, encompassing the northwestern coast of the island of Luzon, I took a trip here with my father back in 2016 to explore what the different cities like Vigan and Laoag had to offer. Attractions like the Paoay Sand Dunes and the famous Calle Crisologo were tourist highlights from this trip.
Saint William’s Cathedral, built in 1612 features Italian Renaissance styling,
a stately façade & an adjacent bell tower as a landmark
as you enter the center of the city of Laoag.
Locals work to bring out sea salt from shallow pools brought to a boil hence all the steam.
Built by the Spaniards in 1892, the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse sits atop a hill
along the northern portion of the region.
A panoramic view from the base of the lighthouse
Near the northernmost part of the island of Luzon is the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation.
Eroded rock formation and cliffs line the shore providing scenic views and vistas to admire.
