7 Creative Strategies

In Art 235 we created photos using 7 creative strategies. Each of the photos below represent one of these.

Combinations: 

This strategy consists of combining 2 different objects to create a new    object or idea without the objects losing their individual meaning. 

Juxtaposition:
This strategy concentrates on using contrast to allow the viewer to compare objects to make visual conclusions.

Isolation:
This strategy creates a focal point in a composition by isolating or confining an object or part of an object from the rest of the composition.

Metaphor or Simile:
This strategy communicates a story visually to a viewer by combining  2 objects or elements, showing how they relate or contrast to each other. 

Change of Context/Environment:
This strategy uses puts an object or idea into a different environment than it would normally used or be seen in to communicate or emphasize a message or idea.

Physical/Shape Similarity:
This strategy compares two objects using similarity in shape or any other physical attribute. 

Material Change/Swap/Focus:
This strategy switchs or swaps the material make up of an object with another to communicate a new concept or story.
