Legato Wine Package Design
This project involves creation of the identity for Legato as well as the design of the packaging for both the wine bottle and container. The purpose of this package design piece is to create an environmentally friendly way of packaging both red and white wine that is cohesive, minimizes waste, and encourages future sales.
The design is multi functional because the packaging in which the wine is sold then becomes a striking organizational method to display and store your bottles of wine. The display holes in the sides of the box can be used as both a vertical stand to store and display up to three bottles of wine or several boxes can be stacked horizontally to expand the amount of wine rack storage. The lid of the package can be used as coasters to protect the surface of your counter to table and the cloth information package included inside of the lid, can be reused as a wine drip collar or serviette. This makes every part of the package reusable.
The labels, logo, and product information are engraved into the bottles and boxes using a laser cutter to avoid the use of a paper label being printed, further reducing the waste associated with the product. I believe that it is important for all packaging to strive to be environmentally friendly and reusable in order to reduce the growing amount of waste, pollution, and environmental destruction occurring in our world today.
