This time, I tried to learn how to draw with just shadows and colours. More than often people got distracted by lines and heavy details that they forgot how little can we see in the shadow area of an object. 
Firstly, I picked an image that has strong shadow from a direct light source and sketched the shadow area, rather than a detailed head. The Original photo was from Janet Leigh in The Red Danube film. 
Then, I tested out six combinations of colours,based on a sheet from “The Spruce” website. With each result, I do have different feelings towards it (see next page).

Combination of Analogous and Tetradic were my two favourites because the treatment at Core Shadow area was better in these two. My least favourite was the Complementary one because it has limited colours to fully establish a complete mood.
My little experiment was fun :) I used several colour combinations and realised how the use of colour can affect a mood of a picture. Tetradic combination result will definitely be used in the future.
