A drive against food waste

Problem
Around one-third of the world’s food is lost to waste with 1.3 billion tons per year. Thus, Gardenia aims to raise awareness regarding food waste among people. However, there is still food waste every day due to people missing out on the best-before date.

Insight
Best-before dates are printed too small, faded, and hidden.

Idea
To solve this issue, Gardenia launches an impossible-to-miss best-before date, which is placed on the front side of the packaging, as a clear reminder to prevent food waste.
