This is my submission for the Puffin category of the Penguin book cover design contest. The book for the Puffin category was the Outsiders. The cover design acts as a venn diagram for the Socs' and the Greasers in comparison. The illustration is oriented vertically unlike the traditional horizontal orientation of a ven diagram to represent the dominance of the Socs' over the Greasers. The colors corrolate to the general color descriptions of both groups in the book; cool blue for greasers and warm red for Socs'.
